I teach 73 children in 1st through 5th grade, who have been identified as gifted and talented at our school. My students are truly exceptional and have a wide range of interests, talents, and vary greatly in their preferred learning styles. I have students who excel in Language Arts and are experts at writing scripts and stories that make you overwhelmed with emotion, who come alive acting out plays, who create elaborate costumes of the Indiana bat from construction paper and string, who film and produce movies that leave me awestruck. I also have students who excel in Math and Science, who create and code robots, enjoy challenging word problems and seek out and master STEM challenges.
Many of my students are kinesthetic learners and learn more effectively via movement.
My students value the opportunity to learn about a wide range of topics, but prefer to do so in ways that allow them to move. When able to move and use flexible seats, they are able to be active in a way that does not negatively affect the learning environment . My students love to read, research, question, and create.
Were you or are you able to sit still while learning? My students are the same. Being still is not one of their fortes. Help my students to achieve the flexible seating options that will allow them to be active while learning at the same time. Over 5 years, my flexible seats have helped countless students to realize their full potential in a environment that validates their need to move and be active. Our stools and crate seats are some of our most used items and we are in need of more for our growing class.
