My students motivate me every day to be the best version of myself! I am a special education teacher in a title one school. I work with students with varying disabilities. My students work hard daily to be the best version of themselves that they can be. Unfortunately, the families I work with struggle with being able to not only bring in supplies to their homeroom teachers let alone to the other teachers they may see throughout the day for extra support.
I try to provide them with all the love, support, and materials they need to be successful but at times it is difficult to budget my own needs and theirs at the same time.
The kids need to know that just because they have a disability doesn't mean that they can't succeed and achieve the dreams they have. We work hard in our classroom daily and yes some days we fall short but with that being said we get up and dust ourselves off and push for a better tomorrow. This continues to teach them not only that they CAN be successful but also too preserver. Please help our classroom get the supplies that they need !
My Project
I want to implement a learning environment that is functional but also fun! I was students to feel at home when they come into my classroom and for them to understand it is a safe environment. I also want to implement more visual aids in the classroom to help reach all types of learners.
A lot of the students I work with struggle with attention as well as handling their frustrations.
By creating this safe and welcoming learning environment as well as implementing more visual aids their success towards achieving their goals with sky rocket! I foresee great things happening this school year!
