Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A majority of the students I support on our campus come from low income homes, are transient, and have mild/moderate disabilities ranging from ADHD to Auditory and Visual Processing difficulties. My students learn differently than the typical student but respond well to "out of the box" teaching strategies and small group instruction. Many of the students I teach have had difficult upbringings and struggle both socially and academically. It is my job to find their strengths and help teach to those strengths.
My Project
Students in my classes are working in collaborative groups every day. I would love to support this process by creating a space for students to discover their creativity while working together on a common goal. There is nothing more rewarding than watching my 7th and 8th grade students become excited about math.
Flexible seating will improve my classroom environment by allowing more movement and seating options for my active learners.
Your generous donation to this project will improve my classroom environment by allowing for a more physically engaging space for my kinesthetic learners. My hope is that this project gives students the opportunity to stay engaged and motivated for a longer period of time so they can flourish both inside and outside the classroom!
