Flexible Seating - To Keep Minds and Bodies Focused.
Help me give my students flexible seating options that allows them to rock, and bounce, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. This also helps keep young minds focused and more alert.
Every morning I wake up excited about what the day will bring. My enthusiastic third graders love school and are eager to learn. A majority of my students are English Language Learners and come from all over the world. They give me their very best selves and are enthusiastic and hard working.
I work at a Title One school that's within the District of Columbia Metro area and a little under 80% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch.
I want my students to have everything they need to be successful and to provide them with the best opportunities and tools to help them stay healthy, and focused. I want to make an everlasting impression on my students and for them to know that I've done everything to make their learning as authentic as possible.
In a classroom full of active, engaged, and enthusiastic students, flexible seating is beneficial for a lot of different reasons. Allowing students the opportunity to have some control in their learning, flexible seating gives them a choice in where their learning is going to be conducted. These flexible seating options are also comfortable, which is a difference from the uncomfortable chairs currently offered to them. And when a student is uncomfortable, the student can become distracted and unproductive.
It’s no surprise that physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, better health, and improved behavior.
By providing flexible seating options that allow students to move, it increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. In turn, this burns more calories and increases metabolism
To help the different flexible seating options I've chosen clean and healthy for all students, we also need to have some Clorax Disinfecting Wipes to wipe down the options available to keep my students from getting sick and in school.
