As a teacher at a low-socioeconomic school, my kids face many challenges each and every day inside the classroom and at home. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch each day and our school was one of the lowest achieving in recent years, but we are working our way to the top!
My students can count on me to be there every day with a hug and a smile to remind them that school is a safe place where they are loved and cared about.
I absolutely love working with students and strive to provide them with experiences that show them what the world is like, that they may have never had. My goal is to challenge and engage our students in every activity.
My Project
Wobble seats allow my students to keep moving while they have seat work. When they are able to wobble while they are at their tables their bodies are getting an increase of oxygen flow to their brains, blood flow throughout their bodies, and strengthening their core muscles all at the same time! In turn, this also burns more calories and increases their metabolisms. This helps keep their young minds alert and focused!
My students will also feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control in their environment.
