Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I school in Florida, where 100% of students receive free breakfast and lunch every day. Our students come from many diverse backgrounds and have many diverse needs and abilities. My class includes students learning English, gifted students as well as ESE students.
My students are energetic, creative and strive for new knowledge.
I want to give them the opportunity to learn in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Your donation will not only help my students this year but future classes as well.
My Project
Flexible seating gives students options to figure out ways that work for them and gives them more ownership of their learning. Throughout the day my students work collaboratively and independently and are given the option to move around. These locations are currently limited to individual desks, tables, and the floor. When students are given the comfort and choices that flexible seating offers, they can focus more on their learning than their seating.
By giving my students more options, they will be more engaged in their work and continue to excel to their full potential.
The products that I have selected will give them a variety that not only gives them more seating options but will also allow for the students to get their “wiggles” out while working to ensure they are focused on the task at hand. The Flex-Space Wobble Cushions will allow comfort, both on a chair and on the floor. The 17" and 22" Flex-Space Balance Ball Seat will allow students the ability to have an alternate chair while working at a table. By giving these options to my students, I give them the chance to take ownership of their workspace, which I have seen increase their learning already! I do believe that these additional seating options will help my students to achieve even more than they already have!
