Two weeks from today my classroom will be filled with highly motivated second graders who are eager to read and write! To help meet the needs of all of our students, our school has decompartmentalized our classes by subject matter. What does that mean? It means that I have the privilege to work with two (yes, two!) second grade classes on their reading and writing skills!
Hardworking, determined, and original, my students are more than ready for all that second grade reading has in store for them!
Their ideas are endless when it comes to their writing and their eagerness to read is a true joy to watch. I can't wait to see all that my second grade scholars accomplish this year!
My Project
The Kids Kore wobble chairs, wobble cushions, and floor seats will give my students more opportunities to take control of their learning! How, you might ask? They will have the ability to choose where they want to work and more importantly, how they want to work! Giving my students a choice of where and what to sit on also helps them to focus on the content we are learning about while also getting some wiggles out! 90 minutes is a long time to be sitting and learning, especially at seven years old! These seating options will allow learning to be more fun and will also allow my students to use their energy in a positive way!
I know I work better when I sit on the floor; I want my students to have the same opportunity to pick seating that works best for them and best for their learning!
These items will go a long way because not only will they benefit my students this year, but also future students in the years to come. Flexible seating will truly help us focus this year and will give my students the chance to take control of their learning. Thank you for taking the time to read through my project; I greatly appreciate it.
