My 25 4th graders are enthusiastic, witty, kind, and thoughtful learners! I call them The Dream Team of Room 113, because this class has been extra inspiring to be the best teacher I can be! Our classroom discussions are rich and exciting! Within our classroom, there is a wide range of needs and abilities. I have noticed that our classroom furniture and set up is not the most conducive to meeting all of my students' needs and that is when this seed of my first Donors Choose began.

My Project
My students love to move! In addition to being a fourth grade teacher, I am also a certified yoga teacher who empathizes with my students need to stretch and move their bodies. Our current classroom has tables that the students sit at to learn, but several times a day I ask students to find a great learning spot other than their regular seat. Students choose to sit underneath the tables or against the wall. However, I can only imagine how much more engaged, comfortable, cozy, and motivated my students would be to choose from a variety of seating options!
Flexible seating would especially benefit some of my students who are quite wiggly and struggle at times to pay attention.
I believe some of the seating options like the couch, wobbly stools, or sensory cushions would be a fan favorite of these friends! I truly think bouncing quietly on an exercise ball would help maintain focus and make learning fun!
