Our school services students from K4-3rd grade. The students in my classroom are in 2nd grade and come from all different backgrounds and ability levels. We have special education students as well as children who speak English as their second language. Some students come from low-income families with no educational background and have minimal resources at home to foster their education.
Our classroom isn't just a place to learn, we are a community of learners.
We work together to share the joys of learning and encourage each other to achieve our personal goals. For some, the classroom is the only place where they feel safe and we have worked together to create that type of environment.
When we work together and support each other, we can achieve anything.
My Project
Sitting down to read or write requires a comfortable spot that allows for our body to naturally move. Our classroom is in need of a variety of seating options that allow natural movement and comfort for each individual child everyday while learning.
When our bodies are able to move our minds can be more focused on our tasks.
With standing options, balance balls and boards, stools and relaxing chairs, our options are endless. Students will have the ability to collaborate with peers in a comfortable place or move to a quiet location to work in peace and achieve their learning goals!
