My students need options for ways to sit and work in the classroom--we don't all function best in a table and chair! I want them to learn to find seating that best meets their needs!
I teach in a self contained gifted program. My kids are bright, curious learners who make my job so much fun. My third and fourth graders love to learn, and they teach me just as much as I teach them!
Our classroom is a place of kindness and compassion.
My students are simply amazing people! I can only imagine the impact they will make on they world as they learn and grow! They will undoubtedly make a difference for many!
My Project
I have learned in my years of teaching that we are not all meant to sit in a table and chair to do our best work! As we look at adults in the world, we often see people making changes that work best for them, whether it be standing in the back of the room, finding a place they can stretch out a bit, or more. I want to help my students to see that they should be in touch with their own needs, advocating for themselves. Some days they may need a wobble seat to get their wiggles out, and some days stretching out in a camp chair may work the best. By having multiple seating options in the classroom, they can find a spot in which they can do their best learning, collaborating, and overall work!
Learning to make powerful and successful choices is a great lifelong skill!
I want my students to be empowered 21st century learners who can work together in a variety of arrangements, configurations, and teams. They are capable of greatness!
