Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are between the age of eight and nine, filled with energy, excitement and are eager to learn! They often get fidgety and restless on the hard plastic chairs we have in our classroom. It is hard for them to sit uncomfortably and focus.
I would love to offer them that wiggle space they seek, by providing flexible seating options.
This gives them the opportunity to move around while engaging in hands-on lessons. I strongly believe this will lead to more student engagement and student achievement!
My Project
My students are amazing, full of life, and ready embark the rigorous challenges of our ever changing world! Studies show that students will be more engaged, focused, and learn better when they are physically active and comfortable.
The balance balls, seat cushions, stools, and carpet will give them the options to learn in an environment suitable for their needs.
All of these options will give my students the opportunity to move around while they are working. The carpet will give them a comfortable space to read.
The project would significantly help my students stay engaged and motivated to learn throughout the day. Our classroom is our second home. I am excited to see all of the amazing things we can do with flexible seating!
