Flexible Seating Provides Comfy Options While Learning
My students need flexible seating so they can have a choice as to where they work in my classroom. The Flex Space Giant Comfy Pillows and Floor Seats are just what we need!
I have 21 wonderful nine and ten year olds in my class. Our school is in a rural suburb of Milwaukee, and my students come from a variety of ethnic, family, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Fourth graders are bursting with curiosity and energy! Research shows that it is crucial to provide children of this age flexible seating options so they can be comfortable and stay focused and engaged during their learning activities. Flexible seating will also allow students to have choices as to where they work in the classroom, rather than staying seated at a desk.
My Project
Flexible seating is considered a “must-have” in today’s classrooms. Research shows that students will remain engaged during work time for longer periods if they have choices as to where they can work, besides sitting at their desk. This school year, having flexible seating options like the floor seats and pillows will be more important than ever, as our school building is currently under renovation and my classroom has had asbestos tiles removed over the summer, and new tile will not be installed until next summer. So my students’ learning environment is in a room with a concrete floor this year. Please help brighten up my classroom and make it a better physical learning environment by donating to my project for flexible seating options.
