My students need alternative seating like bungee chairs and hoki chairs to help them move when the work. My students need high and low work tables and lamps.
My students need a learning environment where they can relax and feel safe in order to learn and grow. I want my students to enjoy learning in our classroom and this is possible when students are giving a choice in seating because they are able to select a seat that will help them concentrate best.
My students are life long learners and leaders.
They are motivated to become the best version of themselves and value the time they spend at school. My students love when the have the opportunity to have a choice. In my classroom, my students feel safe and are motivated to try new things. My school is a Leader in Me school and is constantly working to shape students into becoming life long leaders. My class also participates in daily yoga and meditation exercises. My students would greatly benefit from the opportunity to learn in a flexible seating classroom. They will have different learning opportunities that will encourage them to grow into middle school students.
My Project
I plan to utilize each resource I am requesting to improve my students learning experiences. I have designed a classroom layout that will help my students with their individual learning styles. My students will have the choice to sit in a place where they are comfortable to learn. This is an alternative plan to the traditional classroom seating format. We will use this flexible seating arrangement each day. This will help to develop the ambiance of the classroom and create a safe and fun learning environment. Some of the materials I have requested are high and low tables for those students who want to sit on the floor or stand up to learn. I have asked for wobble seats that work on students posture balance and bungee chairs that allow for students to sit in a more relaxed position while learning. I have also requested more lamps to create a more relaxing ambiance in my classroom. I believe these materials will help my students feel more engaged when learning. I strongly believe this classroom arrangement will help strengthen my students focus in the classroom and overall excitement in being there. My students will be more engaged because they are in a comfortable space for learning. They are given the choice to sit in a place that is conducive to their learning style. The opportunity for my students to move as they learn will improve their overall engagement.
