I taught Kindergarten last year and now I have the pleasure of teaching second grade. My students loved having the opportunity to choose how they wanted to learn. They looked forward to changing how they sat every Monday!
My students are enthusiastic and eager to learn when they feel in control and valued.
Each child is engaged and focused on their learning when they have selected the right learning environment for them! As their teacher, I strive to create a welcoming learning environment for all.
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to have a choice in their learning. They are able to make good choices that will aid in their ability to remain focused and engaged throughout the school day. Currently, students can choose to stand at a table, sit on the floor in a scoop rocker, sit on the floor using lap desks, or sit in a chair at a table.
The donations to this project will help my students feel like they have more control over the way they learn.
The wobble chairs, wobble cushions, and balance balls I have selected will provide my students with even more choices with how they learn. Plus, they will provide students with an opportunity to move around without disrupting their peers.
I've noticed that students are more excited to learn when they are given choices.
