My Students

As a teacher in a low-income school, my students face challenges and hardships within the walls of our school as well as in their homes. Many of my students have experienced trauma in their lives that they are working to overcome within the walls of my classroom. My goal is to provide a safe place for all students to learn and grow. I strongly believe that by building relationships with all students, I can provide a safe place for students to learn, grow, and succeed.

My Project

My goal as a teacher has always been to create a warm, caring environment within the walls of my classroom. I strongly believe that all students can successfully learn if they are comfortable and feel at home in their classroom. Providing many different seating options for students allows students to find the most effective way they learn. Offering choices to my students allows them to be more responsible for their learning.

Flexible seating gives students the opportunity to not only be comfortable while learning, but also have a choice in how they learn.

By offering options such as wobble stools and exercise balls, students can take responsibility for their own learning by finding the best way for them to learn as individuals. These flexible seating options would make my classroom more inviting for students. These options would help me reach my goal of creating a welcoming environment that helps ALL students learn.
