My students need a setting in which enables them to learn their best which includes Computer Task Chairs, Figit Chair Bands, Nesting Tables, Pillows, and Bean Bag Chairs.
I teach in a small, rural school in Iowa. I absolutely love it! My students come to school each day eager to learn! They are full of questions and curiosity, and light up when they achieve a goal or learn something new. They are always so eager to grow.
Each student in my class loves learning, however the ways they learn best vary greatly.
I thoroughly enjoy seeing how their varied gifts and strengths come together in the classroom every day.
My Project
I'm finishing up the finalizing of the classroom and am looking forward to the year ahead, as well as many years to come. The stacking tables that can be moved throughout the room, and will allow them to work in an area that works best for them. The bean bags will be used for reading areas when we are working on "read to self" or interventions. The wobble chairs will be a wonderful addition to the room in order for those kids that need that stimulation while working on their school work.
I've done some research on flexible seating and I feel this change in the classroom will benefit everybody coming into my classroom.
