My Students

Learning is my passion... which explains why I became an elementary teacher twenty years ago. In order to inspire my students to discover the joy in learning, I continue to explore both the art and science of teaching. My students inspire me daily. They inspire me to question my teaching philosophy, test my creativity, and hold strong to my belief that every child can learn. I know I have room to grow as an educator. I welcome the opportunity to learn alongside my students. Though technology, curriculum, and standards often change, one constant remains: Students learn best when actively engaged in purposeful learning.

Our students today need opportunities to collaborate, question, create, and explore to better prepare for their tomorrow.

As an educator, I hope to provide these opportunities and inspire my students to be kind thinkers and learners. My students come to me with different backgrounds, lifestyles, experiences, and strengths. Grateful for the differences and similarities in all of us, I do my best to create a classroom filled with wonder, empathy, and the passion to learn.

My Project

The flexibility to move throughout our classroom in order to collaborate and create is priceless. I hope to provide my students with a variety of seating options to encourage my students to spend more time collaborating with their peers, creating projects, and learning from one another. I do not want my students to feel confined to one seating option which may, in fact, feel uncomfortable and take away valuable opportunities to learn alongside their peers.

I value the power of movement, the power of collaboration, and the power of creativity.

I want my students to have choice when it comes to seating options throughout our classroom.
