My Students
I work with a diverse group of students who are all very creative and smart. They are a wonderful group of children who just need a caring teacher to guide them in their growing and learning process.
While a majority of my students are considered economically disadvantaged (falling in the category of needed free and reduced lunch), you wouldn't be able to tell by the wonderful smiles and desire to learn.
While I do work with a bunch of wonderful students, there are some challenges they face that make it difficult to learn. Hyperactivity, difficulty paying attention, and inability to attend to what they are learning for long periods of time. This is why this project is so important, and receiving this donation would really help students learn to the best of their potential.
My Project
The the funds collected from this project will be used to purchase items to help encourage flexible seating in my classroom.
These materials being purchased will help to allow for low, medium, and high seating levels.
This will help to give a variety of seat changes throughout the day. I plan to purchase bed raisers to raise desks to standing level. Students will also take advantage of the swivel stools, and cushions to use while on the floor.
With flexible seating students will be able to move around more, change positions, and focus better on the concepts and learning taking place.
