My students need balance balls and learning stools as flexible seating choices so they won't need fidget spinners! We had one stability ball last year that was very successful, and would like to offer more choices this year!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are learning Algebra 1 -- that subject no one ever believes they use but everyone needs, on an inner city east side. Our school has a 98% or greater minority population. Our kids are hungry (Title 1 school), not just for food, but also for knowledge and structure.
Are unique, yet typically energetic 9th graders.
Due to our transitory population, I do have a few repeaters that need a push to be more successful and our teachers work as a team to give them that. Many come with learning gaps we do our best to fill.
Many have the kind of low-income, inner-city drama in their life no child should know about, much less experience. In spite of that, they are inquisitive, and will buy into their education once they know you care.
My Project
After reading multiple articles about flexible classroom seating, last year I purchased one stability ball for my high school classroom as an experiment, and having it made a huge difference! Every single class used it daily. Using it was based on a "first come, first use" procedure so different students used it daily. It was such a success, I want to increase options for my students this year.
Research shows "there is power for students in the choice to select where they will work, students know the work isn’t optional, but choosing where they work is" so know your generous donation will help improve student focus and ultimately increase academic achievement.
I have other flexible seating choices that I've been collecting and repainting this summer, but having the 4 colorful learning stools and two stability ball seats will offer professionally amazing options to our classroom seating!
