My Students

I have the best students! They are dedicated and energetic about learning! My students give me their best effort and strive to surpass the goals they set for themselves. The students I have live in a rural environment. We have a big percentage of our school population living in poverty as well. They are truly grateful for the little things in life. They take their individual situations they are faced with in stride and try to make the best of the cards they are dealt. Many students are raised by grandparents. We have many students that have lost a parent. Their strength and resilience is unbelievable. I love coming to work everyday and getting to spend my life encouraging, challenging, supporting, and dreaming with my students.

My Project

We need dry erase markers! We use them daily and in many different ways. We do math problems on small dry erase boards and dance when we get the answer correct! We have a loft and take our boards to sit in it and do work! It will help my students learn by allowing them to do problems in a more active way and eliminate overuse of worksheets. The students love to work in small groups around the room. We go through many markers over the course of a school year and would appreciate the help of purchasing more markers!
