My Students

Each and every year, I have had the joyous experience of molding our future generation. I hear their thoughts and feelings. I hold their amazing projects that they complete throughout the year. I smell delicious foods that we make together. I dance as they sing and perform for our yearly class play. Overall, I am thankful for the opportunity to collaborate and share with this amazing group of children.

I see a future in them that is bright and full of hope.

Through discussions, projects, and their writing, they have taught me so much! And I hope, through this grant, to offer them an additional way to feel more successful in the classroom.

My Project

OCASA is a project-based learning STEAM school that encourages academic learning and social-emotional development for all types of children. We take brain breaks during longer periods of learning, which includes running laps, playing games outside, or clapping games. Even with all of these opportunities for physical breaks, many students could still benefit from a more flexible seating arrangement.

My goal is to provide my students with opportunities to rotate through all of the flexible seating options weekly, in hopes that they are developing their minds and their bodies simultaneously.

The Wobble Chairs will develop their core muscles and good posture while they sit.
