I am fortunate enough to teach some of the most creative, loving, and happy students. My students are in grades 4th, 5th, and 6th grade and come to me for special education services as a resource teacher. They all genuinely enjoy coming to school to learn, interact with peers, and share stories with myself and staff.
My classroom is a melting pot of personalities, backgrounds, and learning styles.
The students in my classroom enjoy moving about the room and engaging in hands-on, interactive activities. Both their bodies and minds are always on the move!
My classroom is like my second home and I want my students to feel the same about our room. An important part of any home is comfortable, inviting furniture. I do my best work when I am in a comfortable environment and want my students to have the same opportunity.
My students spend so much time in the classroom that they deserve to be comfortable while learning.
Some behaviors start as a result of needing to move or not having the proper equipment. Providing my students with tractor seats that swivel and move, stools that wobble, ball chairs that require balance, and wobble cushions that provide the needed input will allow my students to move while still participating in the lesson and therefore, grow their minds.
