Help me give my students flexible seating so that they can have comfortable seating when they choose to sit on the floor during reading or free choice time.
I have a group of energetic seven and eight year old students. They greet me daily with their eagerness to learn and challenge themselves with the many center activities they get to choose from during center time.
I have a very diverse group of students who help one another to learn and understand the concepts being taught throughout the day.
They support one another during small group time and enjoy reading to each other.
I allow my students to sit around the room during free choice time and whenever they are reading. They love having choices and they stay more focus.
My Project
Flexible seating will allow my students to sit anywhere in the classroom and make focusing on their reading and school work more comfortable. When giving my students the choice of different types of seating it will provide options for their many different personalities. It also brings a feeling of home and relaxation; which helps a child’s mind to open up and learn without feeling stress. The comfy floor seats will provide a back support for the students who like to feel like they are sitting in a chair and the floor cushions will provide support for those students who want to sit on the floor but feel the floor feels to hard. The floor cushions will provide a way for those students who need a cushion support underneath them.
