Flexible seating: Kickfix Bands

My Students

I have 24 new second graders coming into my room in August! Many of these students come to school not having their basic needs met on a daily basis. They work hard and are eager to learn even as they face great adversity at such a young age.

They are very hands-on learners and love to get up and move, twirl, squirm, jump, and roll around!

Kids sure don't learn like they used to anymore! Help me change my classroom environment to best fit these new students.

My Project

This project includes two resources to accommodate special learners. First, I have selected light filters for my overhead classroom lights. These light filters will minimize that harsh glare and strain on my students' eyes during the day! The KickFix bands are a brilliant body moving tool for the classroom. I will put these bands at the bottom of every student's chair so that during lessons and work time they are able to keep their bodies moving by bouncing their legs or kicking their feet. Moving in constructive ways that keep their creative juices flowing will help them to focus for longer periods of time and learn the most they can!

Kids aren't at their optimal learning levels when they are constantly sitting at a chair and desk.

They need to move move move! We know kids learning styles are changing, so please help me change with them!
