I work in a school that has a high poverty level and a high level of English Learners. Although they come to school lacking many experiences, they are eager to learn. Many of my students lack the basic skills to be successful in math.
My students have a very hard time sitting in school desks and chairs all day.
They can be very uncomfortable to sit in for long periods of time. They need the ability to have options for how they sit during the day.
My Project
Many of my students have a hard time sitting in their seats all day. The like to have different places and choices of how to sit throughout the day. We have wobble chairs, seat cushions, and a lowered chair with seats to sit at.
This tall table with stools would be another great edition to my flexible seating classroom.
I would put this near a window so they could see out while working in a small group. This would be a great place to sit at that changes the typical day of sitting in an uncomfortable chair for 6 1/2 hours. This will help to promote greater focus and engagement in my classroom!
