The school community works together as team, which includes the community, parents and teachers to create a safe environment where we instill a life-long desire of learning, promote positive relationships through respectful and responsible choices, and build resourceful and technology competent learners. Together we are helping our students expand their academic and social-emotional skills to become well-rounded individuals.
Our Young Fives class consists of 20 energetic students enthusiastic about growing their brain each and every day!
This is the first year of this program at this school. Upon completion of this program, students will attend Kindergarten in the Fall. My passion is to help the students develop their social/emotional skills and to learn the skills necessary to be a lifelong learner.
My Project
I am requesting different pieces of furniture to create flexible seating opportunities within the classroom while also making it a calm and inviting space for all students. There will be some quieter areas with soft cushions, and a couch just their size, as well as tables with various seating options. They will have the opportunity to choose which learning space is best for them.
The flexible seating options will help students learn how to better self-regulate.f
My students could benefit from having many opportunities to learn in various work spaces, since most of them are very active learners. By having options, students will be exposed to lots of areas within the classroom where they can best learn. By having opportunities to identify their best learning space, they can begin to better self-regulate.
