Flexible Seating in the Portable

Help me give my students flexible seating options to increase their ability to focus during instruction. Because we are in a portable, we also need a new water cooler to make sure they are hydrated during school.

My Students

My students love to learn. They want to experience new things and see new things. They are active students with lots of background experiences they can bring to the classroom. They come in wanting to interact with each other in an authentic way.

They are learning how to be respectful to one another.

They are learning how to respect themselves. They are learning how to be responsible. They need more opportunities to practice these skills. They need more chances to use the resources that have been provided to us.

Because of COVID-19, I have found that my students are much more likely to need to move around more. They have been using digital learning devices and they need more time to interact in person and "wiggle."

My Project

Research has shown that students with flexible seating options are more likely to be able to focus. After students have been learning at home, I have noticed this need increasing. At home students were able to move around, sit at the couch, or on the floor. Those options have disappeared as students have come back to school.

My classroom needs increased flexible seating choices for my students.

They are incredibly excited every time I find another option, but some of my current choices are getting a little tired, having had them for a decade. Because we are in a portable, we also need a new cooler. We don't have a sink in our room and our current cooler has started leaking.
