Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In our classroom we strive to create an environment that is safe and respectful for every student. My class is a Special Education classroom with 3rd-5th graders who are learning to be respectful and grow into responsible citizens.
My students have made so much progress and I know that they will continue to grow into responsible and able bodied adults.
My students are kind and creative. They love to learn and come to school. I want them to have the best classroom they deserve.
My Project
Many of my students are on the spectrum and have trouble sitting still and making appropriate choices through out the day. The flexible seating options that this will give me will help my students sit and work and make appropriate choices so that they can keep having the option to chose where they sit. The items I have chosen for this seating are bouncy balls to help get nervous energy out, cushions on the floor, table bands to help those who need to be able to fidget while they work.
My students are young, special education students.
They do not get to make a lot of choices in there lives, instead others make the choices for them. Flexible seating is a way that they will be able to make a choice about their day, and feel confident in that choice.
