Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a first-year teacher, I know that in a classroom various challenges can arise from day to day. One thing that remains the same despite challenges, is consistency and a stable environment. This is the type of setting my 2nd-grade students seek and thrive in.
My 2nd-grade classroom consists of low income, English learners who come to school excited and ready to learn.
I can't wait to provide my eager students a learning environment where they can be the most successful in!
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make choices that will benefit them. My second graders will be allowed to pick the seat that best fits their needs in our classroom.
Students feel empowered by having choice and control over their environment.
Second graders need movement throughout the day. The items I have selected will help my second graders by giving them additional seating options to make effective learning choices. Flexible seating encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused, and productive.
Every student has different needs and what works for one may not work for the next student. My goal is to meet every student's need and seating is a great place to start!
