My students need flexible seating options to use around the room. Exercise balls and wiggle stools will help them focus when working with me or individually.
The students coming to 2nd grade next year are energetic youngsters with a need to move! They are sweet kids who want to do well and succeed! My goal this year is to give them many opportunities for success. As 2nd graders, they're beginning to become "expert" students. They know school routines and generally how things work. However, they are still youngsters! They're going to need more support from me, at least in the beginning. My goal for this year is to provide them many opportunities for success and help them find their independence!
My Project
My move down to 2nd grade this year has gotten me thinking about some more creative ways I can engage my students! Younger students need more help staying focused on their class work and require ways that they can "get their wiggles out".
Flexible seating is one way I can think of to help my students be more successful.
Allowing students to choose their work space gives them a chance to develop self efficacy and can help them understand how they learn best. Bouncy ball seats and wiggle stools allow the students the freedom to move as they work, giving their brains a chance to focus on their task instead of their need to move.
I'm excited to offer some of these options to my students this year and I can't wait to see how this can help them! Thank you all in advance for your continued support!
