My students need a space to collaborate, critically think, plan, communicate their ideas, and put forth their best effort so that they will become successful leaders and learners!
As the new school year is approaching, I am looking forward to being able to work with a group of 25-28 bright and caring students. The 2018-2019 school year will be made up of a diverse group of students coming from many different backgrounds.
Our goal in our classroom is to create a community of leaders through leadership opportunities in and out of the classroom.
With guidance and encouragements these incredible students will accomplish greatness throughout the entire school year!
My Project
Flexible seating is a seating option in the classroom that changes day-to-day to support student success. With flexible seating classrooms, students are not up roaming around and playing, but instead this type of seating allows students the option to choose a spot where they feel most comfortable to complete work and be successful in their learning!
All day long I am asking my students to collaborate, critically think,plan, communicate their ideas, and put forth their best effort so that they will become successful leaders and learners!
But how can I expect them to do all this is they are stuck at their desk, are uncomfortable, or don't have enough room to be creative? So in a nutshell: Educational research is telling us that student choice helps students perform better in the classroom! Isn't that what we all want?
