In our classroom, we are friends, teammates, creators, artists, explorers, authors, and scholars. We are family! Everyday, my students are working collaboratively, setting goals, and building relationships with peers. My goal is to provide the most positive learning environment possible for my students!
In a classroom that supports setting goals, building relationships, social skills, and communicating through daily class meetings, we are in need of a classroom carpet so that we have a designated space for flexible seating, discussions, sharing, and communicating.
My classroom is full of curious learners who are motivated to learn skills of all kinds. My students are from diverse populations and will learn from each other throughout the school year.
My Project
I would like to give my students the opportunity to have choice in their daily seating at school. I would like to start with stability balls and bean bag chairs and explore more optional seating as the year goes along. My students will be more attentive during guided reading and math because of having the ability to move during group time. The bean bag chairs will be a cozy option for students to snuggle up with their favorite book. My students and I are looking forward to creating a fun environment in our classroom where we have choices on where to sit to do their best!
