My Students

My 2nd Grade class is filled with students from mixed socio-economic backgrounds. They are all active, enthusiastic, high-spirited children who are eager to read and write! I would love to design the ideal classroom environment to help their love for learning grow even more! I believe that allowing students to have flexible seating will maximize their ability to work both collaboratively and independently throughout the day. I hope to create an literacy-rich classroom where students have access to a variety of genres and comfortable spaces to dive into a great book!

My Project

Flexible seating allows students the ability to work to their best potential! With a variety of seating options, students will have the opportunity to choose how and where they work best, both collaboratively and during independent work time. These two floor seats can be moved around the classroom with ease. They will fit nicely at our low work tables so that students can work comfortably with a partner. The chairs can also be moved to a quiet corner for independent reading. These two chairs will work well as part of our growing flexible seating options in our second grade classroom!
