My Students

Our classroom at RL Elementary in Maple Grove, MN is full of 26 eager, enthusiastic, and energetic first grade students. The boys and girls within this classroom come from a variety of backgrounds, races, cultures, socio-economic statuses, and ability levels. However, they do have some things in common. They ALL come to school each and every day ready to learn something new, spend quality time working with their classmates and friends, and of course have some fun along the way.

My Project

I am looking to provide my students with a variety of seating options so each child can do his or her best learning. I am excited to switch from traditional desks and chairs to flexible seating next year. Students will be able to choose spots within the classroom where they can do their best learning. I will have tables and different seating options available for the 1st graders.

This DonorsChoose project will help purchase more flexible seating options for my first graders.

The teardrop soft seating can be used as a chair or a table. The stools will help children who need to move around a little bit while working. I have found that when students can choose where they are going to work they are more invested in their learning. Our classroom becomes a comfortable place where all students are able to learn and grow.
