My classroom is a place where my students call home. In our class, we are not students and teacher, we are a family. A family that has members from various backgrounds and personalities. One thing they all share is their love for learning.
More than one third of our students are low income.
However, this will not stop them from achieving their dreams and visions. The love that they possess for learning will enable them to change their communities and the world for the better.
My Project
Research has shown that allowing students to choose their seating options greatly enhances student engagement. Thanks to my Donor's Choose Project being sponsored last year, I was able to start flex seating in classroom this year! Students have been able to choose from a disc seat, stability ball, wobble stool, or a stool.
By choosing their seating option, they are able to become more comfortable, find a responsible working space and get the most out of our work times and classroom activities.
One of their favorite choices are the WOBBLE stools! The students are constantly arguing who will get it for the day! By getting more wobble stools, it will give my students more choice and help them to do their absolute best!
