Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom of 23 students, about half of whom receive special education services. Our students are eager to learn and need the resources in order to be successful in their studies!

Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with most of our students receiving free lunch.

My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them for the rest of the day!

My Project

When I work, I want to be comfortable and sometimes it is not at a desk. The new furniture will provide the students with a different option besides a hard chair. Many students also have attention problems, being able to move and change seating can eliminate the behavior issues that may arise. They can pull the chairs together as they are reading and discussing.

Again, students spend so much time in the classroom and they need to be comfortable.

That may be having a chair that allows them to move, a classroom that they can collaborate, and even a spot where they can work in quiet. These students are learning that a classroom is not just within the four walls of a classroom. It doesn't have to be a place that is orderly and uncomfortable. Help these students get a chance for change.
