Help me give my students flexible seating. When given the option to work wherever they want, most kids find the floor. These bleacher seats would help support their posture.

My Students

My students come from all walks of life. Sixth grade is the first year they are in ​middle school. On top of coming from 25+ schools, they are participating in their first school sports—per tryout! To say the least they have a lot on their plate. This is also the first year of having a block schedule with 10+ teachers which is a huge adjustment mentally and physically since our building is pretty big comparably so, to their elementary.

They love learning and come to us excited and ready to grow.

By the time we send them to 7th grade most of them are taller than I am and have the tools to be successful in yet another monumental year of growing.

My Project

I would like to give my students the option to sit where ever they would like, by giving them a comfortable option when working independently. Currently, they have tables to sit at regular height. I found if I take off the legs of these tables, they are perfect height to sit at on the floor. This gives them the space to work/write while being on the floor. Best of both worlds, considering most kids choose to sit on the floor when given the chance during independent time. These bleacher seats would support their posture and give them the comfort of being on a cement carpeted floor.
