Help me give my students flexible seating throughout the classroom. Flexible seating allows student choice , collaboration with other students, helps students focus and process information, and makes learning fun!
My second graders are smart, caring, respectful and fun!
They are hard workers and have a full day of learning including: math, writing, reading, science/social studies, word study, specials and recess/lunch.
They love to take brain breaks throughout the day to keep their mind and body refreshed and energized!
My second graders love learning through different types of styles. For example, we use technology, small group work, hands on activities, etc. They make us smile and laugh each and every day.
My Project
Flexible seating benefits everyone in the classroom community in many ways. It gives students choice, allowing students to have control over where they would like to sit; and change their location and position frequently. Flexible seating gives students the freedom to bounce, twist, fidget, wobble, sit and stand as needed. Flexible seating encourages children to share space and supplies. They can be comfortable throughout the day and comfortable students are calm, focused, and productive. Students learn better when they have a chance to work together. Flexible seating allows students to easily pair up, work in small groups, or discuss topics as a whole class. Lastly, many flexible seating options stimulate a student's sense of touch. This type of stimulation can help children focus, and process information.
