Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
More than three‑quarters of my students are from low‑income households. My students are eager to learn but when I mentioned they would have to sit in their chairs while they read they were less eager to read. Many of my students need a place to sit in peace while they enjoy and develop a love for reading. Having flexible seating options will also help me because I have a split class. I want my students to feel like there is enough space for all of them.
My Project
This year I am teaching 4th and 5th graders and cannot wait to see them learn in an environment that elicits creativity and allows them to find the space in the classroom where they can find their inspiration.
Flexible seating will allow my students to have the freedom of movement and create an atmosphere that is not only a safe space but a devoted space for learning.
I would really enjoy watching my students working, sharing ideas, solving problems, and using the furniture that will help them stay engaged. My students deserve a place where they can feel like they can read and let their imagination flourish.
