Flexible Seating For Those Who Would Rather Stand!
Help me give my students standing desks so they have the option to stand while working and learning.
This project expired on January 29, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I work at a high performing elementary school. Students at my school are anxious to learn, but also very active.
Support for this project will help students improve their focus by giving them an opportunity to move while they are working without disrupting others.
Every year I have students that just can't sit. I let them stand, but leaning over a desk to work never turns out to be productive. The student gets uncomfortable, and then they get off task. I heard another teacher talk about this desk and it was like a light bulb went off in my head. This is the perfect solution for students in my classroom! My students often work with a partner, having two of these desks in my classroom would help me continue to create that collaborative culture.
Flexible seating is all the rage right now. I am looking for a flexible seating option that allows students to stand. I have had students in the past and I have current students who just need to stand. It is difficult to sit all day.
Stand 2 Learn desks allow students to stand while still focusing on their work, or me!
These Stand 2 Learn desks will allow students to be doing what they are supposed to be doing. No longer will they stick out as doing something "wrong", but they will be standing and working because that is what their desk allows them to do. I will allow all students to have a chance to use them, but ultimately I am looking for the students who would really benefit from using them and assign them to those students. These desk will benefit students year after year.
