I teach 14-20-year-old high school students with a variety of backgrounds in culture, education and home life. My students are focusing their time in school on preparing for college and careers while also balancing life outside of school and that can range from working to taking care of siblings. We work with our students to help them not only be prepared for life after high school but to be productive citizens in their communities.
My students are motivated and bright!
All of my students participate in technology education and we include becoming productive citizen as part of their whole education. We also coach them in literacy and math to ensure they can be competitive with students from across the country.
Most of my students are looking forward to making it to graduation and finding their way in life. They are bright, motivated and trying not to be bogged down by challenges they face but rather face and conquer those challenges head on.
There are a lot of great reasons why flexible seating is so important for students. I believe this options will further enhance my students classroom experience and along with that students will have the ability to choose, have greater community, freedom of movement, be more comfortable and more easily collaborate.
Research has shown that flexible seating is beneficial and effective for students of all ages!
I believe that having the choice of how they sit will help them to be better engaged and learn more effectively. Physical activity is directly linked to higher academic performance and that is what I want for my students.
Many flexible seating options stimulate students' sense of touch. This type of stimulation can help students focus and process information.
