My students are energetic, creative, and full of questions! They love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
Each child in my classroom is very different and uniquely made, which means the way that they learn is unique, as well.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, sitting under tables with clip boards, or sitting or laying on the floor with a clip board. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices.
The wobble stools will allow for students to move while continuing to learn. These will be extremely beneficial for some students that just need to get the wiggles out. The floor cushions and the lap desks will allow students to work from anywhere in the room. The stability balls will help students focus on their balance and work instead of being stuck in a regular chair. The bouncy bands and chair cushions will allow students to get their wiggle out, even while sitting in a regular chair.
I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
