Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach first grade in a South Florida low-income community. Our school mascot is the Fawn and we say that we are all Fawn-tastic!

Our school is a Magnet and Title I school.

As a school, 97% of our students get free or reduced-rate lunch. We have a diverse population.

At my school, we have not been given enough funding to keep up with the newest technology and other necessary supplies needed. My students come to school without the basic supplies needed for their success.

My school as a whole highly values education and as a staff team, we are always learning and growing. My students are the greatest and most valuable asset to me and we thank you for your generosity from the bottom of our hearts!

My Project

The flexible seating options I have requested will go a long way in my classroom.

My students love learning and finding different objects to sit on while doing so.

With your donation, it would be a great help in getting them some comfortable seating options. I have a few flexible seating options in my classroom, but not enough for every child. With the flexible seating options I requested, most of my students will have the choice of where they would like to sit and do their work for the day. The use of these seats helps focus my students' attention and is also a great incentive.
