My Students

Did you ever have a difficult time sitting in the same desk, in the same classroom, day after day as a child? For many of my second grade students, it can be extremely difficult to remain focused when being given an assigned work space.

Being able to choose from a variety of seating options can provide motivation and excitement towards learning!

My goal is to incorporate alternative flexible seating in my classroom to ensure each student has a comfortable place to work where optimal learning can take place! With the help of amazing donors I will be able to provide that opportunity for my students!

My Project

Comfortable students are engaged students! Alternative or flexible seating empowers students to be able to choose where they sit (and, by extension, how they learn). They’re more committed and they’re more likely to remain on task and produce quality work! These soft seats and wobble chairs will allow every type of learner to quickly and easily pair up, work in small groups, or discuss as a whole class. Students love the opportunity to move around and the classroom environment absolutely should be conducive to open collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking! This simply cannot be done when kids are sitting in rows of desks all day.
