My 16 4th graders are the kindest, most encouraging kids I've ever met. They impress me with their hard work every single day. They come from a variety of backgrounds and ability levels, but they are never afraid to try their best in every situation. This class loves school, they love learning, and they love helping others. I feel very lucky that I get to be their teacher. My students and I appreciate the generosity that people have shown our class so far.
This is my first year implementing full flexible seating for my students. Students are free to choose whatever seat they can learn best in and they can change their seats often. Students sit in chairs with bouncy bands, on wobble stools, on exercise balls, and even on the couch. It is going very well, but I didn't know going into this school year what the best seating options would be. The students really love the wobble stools and they are great for helping students stay focused. They also enjoy sitting on the carpet, so the lap desks will help them be able to do that and complete work more comfortably. I'm also requesting clipboards, dry erase decals, and dry erase markers to save paper and make it easier to work in all areas of the room.
