Inspiring, creative, and team players are just a few of the words I would use to describe my students this year. From the first day of school their eagerness to learn and work as a team has set the bar high this year. I can't wait to see how my "team" plays out this year.
One of the biggest challenges a teacher faces is differentiation in their classroom.
The ability to reach every individual goal for every student plays a major role in success. In my class, I have the sports boys, the girly girls, chatterboxes, and jittery feet students. With smiles on their faces, their dreams become my dreams and together we will reach for the stars and team up for success.
My classroom was lucky to receive 5 stand up desks which have made for a very differentiated classroom. But there is a need for some different adaptive seating tools. With all these pieces combined, I want every child to succeed, feel inspired, and confident in their individual selves.
My Project
Flexible seating will allow my students to take charge of their learning. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, stand up desks, lab desks, or sitting or laying on the floor with a clipboard. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them.
These items will help to enhance the individual leaner and styles in my classroom.
When students choose their path they are more successful and confident.
