My Students

My class is a wonderful, collaborative group of young learners. They are inquisitive about the world around them. They light up when they make connections between something from their lives and what they have read or what they have learned. Our school is in a suburban area, and the school serves 3 towns. My students are diverse learners, but all share the common bond that they all strive to do their best. They are kind to each other and live by the golden rule. They enjoy coming to school, learning, and being together with their friends in second grade!

My Project

I want to give my students many opportunities to do their best learning. Little by little, I am acquiring the tools necessary to implement flexible seating in my classroom. I am asking for one lap desk and one recliner seat that allow the children to forgo their traditional desks and work on the carpet. They will allow for two students in my general education classroom to work how they feel most comfortable. I would love to add to flexible seating options I have currently and provide even more options for more students. My goal is eventually having enough choices for a class set.
