Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Western students range from 7th grade to 12th grade. They originate from a small, loving community in Phoenix. They come to school with big dreams of meeting personal goals that will prepare them for high school and college. It would bring me so much joy to see their eyes light as they walk into their warm and inviting classroom where they can truly enjoy the daily grind and satisfaction that comes with hard work!
Some are athletes, others are self-proclaimed tech geeks, while others are seniors eagerly-anxious about the big upcoming milestone; graduation!
Our Warriors take pride in their school, eagerly pronouncing that they will be the first A-rated school in their community. They believe. Their families believe. We believe.
My Project
Flexible seating is a super easy way to empower students. Scholars will get the opportunity to choose either the high top seating or have the opportunity to stand at the bistro table or sit on the floor using the seat cushions.
Students feel a strong sense of ownership and empowerment to take on the task of writing an essay or reading rigorous texts.
Flexible Seating help students to concentrate and infuses the classroom with engagement and an eagerness to learn.
Students have praised Flexible Seating for its ability to offer them choice, to improve motivation, variety, and have learning be more engaging.
