Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom is filled with 28 third graders with mixed skills, interests, and abilities. Many are my students are ESE there to have many different needs. They are all very curious and ambitious students. We are a big family in which they help each other every day and are caught doing responsible and helpful actions.
In our class, we are a community filled with creators, readers, scientists, and artists.
They have many different interests which they use to their advantage every day. These students are the future, I want to give them the encouragement and support they need.
My Project
These materials will create a flexible seating environment in our classroom. This will enrich my students' daily life in the classroom by allowing them to make their own choices, be responsible students, create habits that will last them a lifetime, collaborate with their peers and at the same time make it fun and engaging!
I want to prepare my students for the real world and flexible seating will create a learning environment that reflects the real world.
Students allowed the opportunity to choose their own seating option will learn about making real-life decisions.
This will make it student-centered and allow them to actively become a part of their learning experience. My students will feel ownership over their classroom and their decisions. When students are given the opportunity to of flexible seating, they are able to engage in collaborating experiences with their peers.
Also, this environment will stimulate the students' senses. This is especially beneficial for my ESE students. This can help them focus and process information better.
These materials will benefit my students today, tomorrow and for the future.
