Help me give my students new flexible seating options. In our classroom we do lots of small group work. We need the ability to sit around our table with comfortable options without crowding one another.
I teach 8-9 years old who have a love for school. Each day they are becoming scientists, explorers, mathematicians, readers and learning how to navigate in the world inside and outside of school. My students are becoming a united front and each and every day we work towards fostering an inclusive community in our room.
We all come from a mix of backgrounds and we use that to help build our learning and understanding for each other.
We are 3rd graders learning from all different stages. We try our best to succeed, but know we need accountable partners to help us when we get stuck.
In our classroom, small group work is our main focus. Having small group rotations helps ensure the students are receiving grade level work with the modifications they need to access it.
Currently, we don't have a usable small group space besides the carpet.
Having these stools and other options will help give the students a great learning environment to focus on the work not how uncomfortable they are.
The stools and wiggle seats will give my students an area that is dedicated to their group work. It'll be a space where they can be comfortable and truly focus on the work at hand.
